Mad Hatter

EZ said, “knit on with confidence and hope, through all crises.”

I have translated this to, “knit the same damn hat over and over and over and over again through all crises.”

On Tuesday (21 Oct), I cast on the first Turn A Square (a free pattern from Jared, here on ravelry) out of stress and needing to do something to relax.

I was binding off the fourth hat at the same time we received the official good news on Friday (24 Oct).

We’re moving! Back to Seattle. Anyone who has talked to us in the five-plus years since we moved back to DC has seen that faraway look we get when we talk about Seattle. Our families are here in DC and we are going to miss them a lot, but we will instead give them an excuse to come visit the wet coast!

Quick details: US9 needles, CO 80 stitches, no increase after the ribbing. Two of the hats use the pattern-specified striping; two use ribbing every two rounds.

My knitting time is rapidly dropping to zero as I work on getting this house ready to sell (ugh) and getting our stuff ready for the movers. It looks like we will be back in Seattle sometime in December/January.

I have one (large) knitting project I am definitely trying to finish up before we move. I’m also reorganizing the yarn and downsizing the stash… and picking a couple of projects for temporary housing.

I’m excited, but have a lot to do!

I do like this pattern. I wonder if my Christmas stocking wanting sister would be pacified by hats this year? Probably not.
