What February Doldrums?
Back in February 2007[!], I started the Chevron Scarf from Last-Minute Knitted Gifts (ravel it).
I picked two colors of sock yarn that I never ever EVER would have put together and just went with it. I really hate knitting scarves though, so it was slow, slow, SLOW progress. I finally started getting more and more done in March when I started going to PT for my knee and had to sit hooked up to the e-stim for 15 minutes twice a week. 15 minutes was long enough for me to get in 8 rows — one inch of scarf.
Finally, in my August rush to finish some of my languishing projects, I completed it.

I knit it on US5 needles, using one 50g ball of Koigu Painter’s Palette Premium Merino (in blue/green/yellow/orange) and one 50g ball of Artyarns Ultramerino (in pink/purple/red/brown #111). It’s about 5’8″ long, which is plenty for 5’6″ me.

By the time February rolls around again, I figure I’ll have the perfect garish accessory to scare the dreary doldrums away.
Garrish, no way! It’s a chevron!!!! :) I’m afraid to start one as I see mine taking even longer than this to knit!
Your scarf is beautiful.
It is one of the longest and most arduous projects around but the results are always fabulous!
LOL at garish accessory! I don’t agree though, I think the colors are great!
