Garter Tunic Design, Part 0

I am making a sweater for someone. This someone likes tunic length sweaters with notch necks. I already had the yarn, Noro Kureyon in colorway 150.

A quick perusal of Ravelry and I discovered DROPS tunic in stocking and garter st in “Lin” (ravelry). I thought this pattern would work with the relatively understated Kureyon colorway and not conflict with it.

I started with a sleeve:

I wasn’t happy with it. The fabric was a little too dense for my taste. I was unhappy with the style. I made the decision to frog the sleeve and start anew, designing something myself.

I like certain elements of the tunic – the neckline for one. That color of Noro is very pretty!
