Travel Means… Orange?

Orange?

I’m not sure how a color I used to abhor has become a favorite, but I’m not going to argue.

I flew from DC to Phoenix to Seattle on the way out, and Seattle to Philly to DC on the way back. This gave me a lot of plane knitting time. Enough that I finally finished another pair of socks! I really like these, though the cabling really makes my ankles look extra-super-duper-hugemongous!

Quick Facts:
Pattern: Anna Bell’s Badcaul, which you can buy in her shop.
Yarn: Shibui Sock in Pagoda (1675), from Simply Sock Yarn Company
Needles: Knit Picks fixed nickel plated circulars, US1, 32″
Started-Finished: October 2007 – 19 June 2008 (HA)
Ravelry Project: pattern, my project

The pattern was great, and actually works well in a more variegated yarn. I especially liked that the slipped stitches on the cables helped work them without a cable needle.

Also, the Shibui Sock was really, really nice to work with. It did pool a little but this is solid enough that it doesn’t bother me.

While in Seattle, I found time to cast on and just barely begin some lace –

Let’s not discuss how many triangular lace shawls I’ve started. This one gets smaller as one knits (magical, funny phrasing), so I’m betting that if I ever finish a lace shawl, it will be this one. Plus, hey, it IS orange.

Not that being orange has helped with my still-sleeveless Celtic Dreams

Love the orange socks. Do you have the same problem I have? You knit socks, but then find you have nothing to wear them with. I am just guessing since you said you used to hate orange. :)

Can’t wait to see the triangular shawl.
