FO: Rogue
Yes, I finished Rogue approximately one million years ago, but I never posted any final pictures or specifications. This may be because it is incredibly huge on me (and therefore not all that becoming) and because the double decreases on the hood are not quite right. I still need to see what I can do about that.
I do love the sweater and I do wear it regularly, despite the fact that it is much larger than it needed to be. It is very warm and only a little scratchy — the oiled coned Peace Fleece did wash up nice!
Lots of pictures:

me in rogue — note how long the sleeves are. oops!

Here’s the hood double decreases that I am not happy with:

I’ve tried to fix it with serious blocking and some stitch adjustment, but no luck. I may still mess with it a little.
Okay okay, here’s the specs:
- Pattern:
- Rogue by Jenna (The Girl from Auntie)
- Size:
- 48″ — in retrospect, I should have made the 43.5″
- Yarn:
- Peace Fleece in Moldova Burgundy. I had two cones of this and I used all of one and most of the other — possibly 3 pounds of yarn[!].
- Needles:
- This is where I struggled. I used US7s in Addi Turbos, Inox, Susan Bates, and I think I even tried some Clovers! I finally finished it with Knit Picks Options circulars — they were the first needles that I wasn’t constantly fighting while knitting. Love them (still)!
- Started-Finished:
- A long time! 3 October 2005 – 10 September 2006
- Modifications:
- Nothing important — I did adjust the hems a little bit, but I think that was it.
It took me a long time, but I am very glad I finished and I am happy with it overall.
[Tomorrow I should have the FO post for Licorice Whip!]
Looks pretty perfect from here. I especially like the boxer accessory!
You look so cute in that! Isn’t there something that is so cozy about an oversized sweater! Great job.
I think your Rogue is amazing. I love that color of Peace Fleece, too! There’s nothing better than a hoodie sweater to just snuggle up in.
That will become an old friend every Fall. Beautiful!
That looks great. And it’s one of the nicest colors I’ve seen it in, too. And it looks like a nice fit. Congratulations!
I’m so proud for you, it looks fantastic! I’d wear it all the time in the chilly weather. I can’t wait to see the Licorice Whip. I want to make that one as well.
Very nice, great color and it looks super on.
I totally agree that the hood cables were my favorite part of the knit. I love the color of yours–and I’d already planned to make mine oversized so that it would be like a big snuggly sweatshirt!
Looks comfey! Normally I don’t like hoods, but maybe I’ll have to make this one anyway!
Looks great, and looks so cozy in the bigger size. Those rogue cables are such eye-candy.
it looks big but comfy for sure! i love that second picture with your cat sitting in the plant pot on the window :) cats are so strange.
that looks great – the color is amazing! it does look big, but a comfy big – not an “oops I made it way too big” big…
yay licorice whip!!!
I have wanted to knit this one, but I have never SEEN it on anyone. Everyone always photographs it on a couch or something. Love it. The color is great and looks fantastic on you.
If you wanted it a smidge smaller, you could wash it in warmish water very gently. I did that with a Lopi sweater once that was like one size too big for me.
Awww, beautiful Rogue! You know, with all these tight and shaped sweaters around, it’s really good seeing one that’s a bit bigger for a change – it looks so amazingly comfy that I know I would wear it all the time! I also love the colour you’ve been using, it fits you so well!
Congrats on finishing your Rogue sweater! It looks great!
Another stunner. Just beautiful Jess, and I LOVE the color too. Oh – thought of you when I got the newest KP catalog because of this sweater and Celtic Dreams. All those cables you know. Did any of them pique your interest?
I love Rogue! When I grow up, I want to knit the zippered-cardigan version….
