Crafty Organization

In the back of my mind, I had been toying around with the idea of building a web-based, mysql backed crafty inventory + project planning site + crm site.

Today, Mac (of Pesky’Apostrophe) posted about CraftMemo, which seems to do all of the above. It was created by Jan, who was using MS Excel to manage everything and quickly saw that get out of hand (as I’m sure many of us have, ahem).

I quickly created an account on CraftMemo and added the yarn I received today (ha) to it. It has a relatively easy interface, though I would have designed it differently. Take a look — accounts are free and it may do everything for you that you need it to do.

[aside: in adding the yarn I received today to the sweater stash box, I quickly became overwhelmed. No more freaking sweater yarn for me aside from the yarn for Eunny's Deep V Argyle Vest that will be a holiday gift for someone special. Nothing else. I have so much yarn for sweaters for me here it is not even funny. Especially given my lack of time. ]

Hi – I know this is a really old thread (2006!), but thought I might let you all know that since CraftMemo is no longer around, we’ve taken up the charge to make a new craft inventory tracker site.

It’s called Craftybase http://craftybase.com and our aim is to make it easier for crafters to organise their inventory and projects. We are currently in private beta at the moment, so we’d love your feedback so we can develop something really awesomely special for crafters!

p.s. you are welcome to use the special code “bobbin” when signing up to get instant access to the beta site.
